Amber and Jonas had a beautiful day for their wedding. The ceremony and reception were at the very hip Hotel Monaco and the beautiful flowers were created by Blumgarten & Co.
Amber was the epitome of a bride who keeps her cool under pressure. There was a slight problem with her dress (the zipper broke and her Mom and Grandmother had to literally sew her into it)!
Here is a photo slideshow of the day's highlights:
I met Kelly, Jeff and their son Connor a few weeks ago and had such a fun few hours photographing them. Connor was very cooperative, he just kept smiling and trying to eat his hands and toes...
For some family photos with the dog, we set up a row of theater seats I spotted in their building's lobby. Thanks to Jeff for helping me lug them out to the alley (they were heavy!).
Then we headed to Humbolt Park for some more photos. 6 months is a great age for photos because they can't run away on you yet (but they do tend to fall over if left unattended)...
I photographed Anna and Morgan when Morgan was just a wee baby so it was really fun to spend some time with them again this past week. They are such busy little girls that it was hard to keep up. Even though the weather didn't exactly cooperate, we made the best of it, like kids usually do!

Goofing Around
As soon as we stepped outside Anna stuck out her tongue for raindrops. This is why I love hanging around kids!
I can't resist showing a few photos from our first session:
And finally this is a slideshow of my favorite images from our photo session:
I recently spent a very fun weekend in Galena, Illinois where I met up with Melanie and Mike for their engagement session. I'm photographing M & M's (I just made that up) wedding this September in Wisconsin and they were originally going to travel to Chicago for their engagement session. When we were checking our schedules to pick a date I mentioned I was headed to Galena in May and we all agreed it'd be fun to do a "destination" session there. You gotta love a couple who is up for anything to get some great photos...
Last Thursday near sunset I got together with a group of fellow wedding photographers for a fun practice shoot around the West Loop. We had a few brave volunteer models and lots of different lighting equipment to play around with. Here are a few images I created:
Ray Pryor of Emotia Photo shot video of our adventures with the new Canon 5D Mark II and made this great video:
Friday was the perfect spring day and I got to spend it outside photographing Irene and Eric's engagement session in and around the Lincoln Park Zoo. Irene and Eric were so relaxed and fun they made it easy to get some great shots. Here are a few of my favorites:
Looking forward to their big, fat Greek wedding on the fourth of July!
